The mission of the recognized Affiliate group is to empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity and inclusion.

Girls in Robotics

We are proud to announce our latest initiative, “Girls in Robotics”!

“Girls in Robotics” is a six-day training event scheduled from 6th to 11th May, 2024, at the Pillai College of Engineering, New Panvel. The event aims to inspire and empower girls from the 6th to 10th standard to explore the fascinating world of robotics and STEM.

Our goal is to provide these young girls with hands-on experiences, mentorship, and exposure to robotics. We believe that fostering their interest in science and technology at an early age will have a lasting impact on their future careers.

Girls in Robotics – a one week training program on Robotics exclusively for 6th to 10th standard school girls.

Duration of Training: 7 hours per day
Dates: 6th – 11th May, 2024
Timings: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Venue: Pillai College of Engineering, New Panvel

The training is free but you need to pay a refundable deposit of Rs. 200 to confirm your participation and to help us to make accurate logistics arrangements. This deposit will be returned to you after you complete your 6 days training.

The student should

STEM Outreach Activity-2

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) conducted an event at DB Patil School, Panvel, introducing 6th and 7th-grade students, particularly females, to Microbit to cultivate interest in STEM. The event successfully inspired curiosity and confidence among students, fostering a pathway for future engagement in STEM fields.

SWE organized a Women’s Day workshop at Sant Sai Baba Vidyalay School for grade 1st to 5th to encourage girls’ engagement in STEM. Activities covered motor mechanics, solar panels, and Microbit interfacing, providing hands-on experiences. The interactive sessions aimed to break gender stereotypes, inspiring girls to explore STEM fields with confidence. Participants showed enthusiasm, signaling a successful effort in fostering interest and motivation among the students to pursue diverse opportunities in science and technology.

SWE-PCE, in collaboration with Alegria and PCE, brought up a combination of an innovative workshop called Web Development Using Python. The workshop’s agenda included basics of HTML and CSS, using the Flask framework in Python and ultimately creating a basic social media blog web application. Participants had the opportunity to practice their skills through hands – on exercises, solidifying their understanding of Python web development.
