Pillai College of Engineering (PCE), New Panvel won the Mumbai University Raigad Zone Chess title, where a total of 38 college teams competed for the title. Pillai College of Arts Commerce and Science, New Panvel and Pillai HOC College of Engineering, Rasayani, who had competed for the first time in the University Chess format came 4th and 7th position respectively. PCE and PCACS qualified for the Final league of Mumbai University Chess Championship.
