On 5th October, 2019, Pillai College of Engineering PCE, New Panvel in association with ICPE (Indian Centre for Plastic in Environment), BIOCRUX, RELIANCE Industries, National Service Scheme volunteers, STREE MUKTI SANGHATHAN and Panvel Muncipal Corporation conducted a “Plastic Awareness Program”.
The function was presided by the Honorable secretary of ICPE Dr. Sapan Ray, Managing Director of BIOCRUX Mr. Ajay Mishra, President of RELIANCE PET division Mr. Deepak Mehta, Dr. Sandeep Joshi, Dr. Arun Pillai and Dr. Biswajit Panda.
The highly successful activity is a small step in the making of Clean Panvel! Green Panvel!
More than 780 kg of plastic waste were collected by PCE students. There were a total of 500 PCE students guided by 50 NSS volunteers in the massive cleanliness drive and collection of waste materials in Panvel.
We are proud of your effort to make PLASTIC AWARENESS DRIVE a grand success.
Through such activities, PCE is indeed making environmentally conscious engineers, by training them to find solutions that have minimal impact on the ecology.
